Green Thumb Gardeners Know Their Pleasures:
An unwise friend of mine once said, ‘
dening in its simplest form is nothing more than shoveling the earth below
feet to make room for the plants, trees and shrubs”. But tell that to a
dener, such as myself, and the response we can give may seem a bit edgy. Not everybody loves
dening and not everybody loves ice fishing. But
deners and ice fishers a like, know that their time performing their hobby is time well spent and pleasurable.
Gardening is a learning process that takes sometime to master. Designing, pruning and plant knowledge simply improves and becomes second nature over the cse of y
dening years. As we begin to mature into the master
dener that we know we are, the green thumb begins to glow wildly with y
achievements and the
dening pleasures are the fruits, if you will, of y
hard work.
Gardeners not only love what they do, they love the fact that they can create an escape for friends and family to enjoy. Our lives get busier everyday and the standard 24 hs just seems too short. That is until one can truly enjoy the comfort that a
den emits. Similar to being wrapped up in a warm blanket on a cold snowy day! A
den lets us forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A
den rejuvenates all of
senses. We can smell the flowers, see the vibrant colors, hear the chirps of
feathered friends that enjoy their beautiful habitat and we can feel the various textures the
den has to offer. And if there’s a vegetable
den, need I say more!
A complete den takes time to evolve and is continuously changing with y
direction. Transplanting, dividing, pruning, composting are necessary to keep y
den in tip-top shape. So we are not just shoveling and placing the earth below
feet to make room for the plants, trees and shrubs. Armed with
green thumbs, calloused hands and
den knowledge,
deners orchestrate the
dening process with precision. Creating
outdoor masterpieces gives us a sense of accomplishment with great pleasure.
